So it has been 2.5 days (Friday Night) when I created the http://questions.civicvoice.com/ site.

This is a site where people can ask questions, and get them answered by other internet citizens. I have asked a couple questions, and answered 2 or 3, but the rest have been answered by site visitors.

I am going to hold my head high and take things one day at a time. My husband is working harder and longer hours, while I am doing my best not to over spend in case of an emergency. Thank goodness we never lived above our means so right now we are safe.

Trying to watch how much money I spend and maybe changing my career. If you are on unemployment and want to change your career the government may help you pay for tuition. Make sure to check what careers are in demand and if it something you like.

The same thing I have always done which is to spend less than I make by following my budget. I pay myself first and invest that money using dollar cost averaging in a mixture of stock and bond mutual funds and a cash emergency fund.

I'll be doing what a lot of others are probably going to do: spend less and not spend more than my income unless some extreme circumstance (car repair, etc) pops up. I certainly don't want to be paying on a credit card for 30 years just because I couldn't afford my lifestyle now.

I am going to be much more sensible about my spending. While there are some areas that I cannot cut corners, there are others where I can cut or eliminate spending completely.

I am going to use my vehicle less. Will help save on gas. Turn heat down in the the winter and air up in the summer. Start shopping for off brand products.

I am going to plant up a vegetable garden. Eat out far less. Cancel my cable TV subscription and magazine subscriptions. Start running instead of paying gym fees.
